Nato a Leningrado nel 1964, Daniel Zaretsky ha
studiato pianoforte ed organo presso il Conservatorio
di Stato della città natale. Nel 1989 ha conseguito i
diplomi di didattica ed esecuzione sotto la guida di
E. Bazanov e N. Oksentjan, perfezionandosi poi presso
il Conservatorio di Stato di Kazan con R. Abdoullin.
Dal 1991 al 1993 ha studiato Interpretazione
organistica all’Accademia Musicale Sibelius di
Helsinky (Finlandia) con K. Jussila, diplomandosi con
lode. Ha frequentato numerose masterclass in Europa
occidentale, tra cui quelle di Guy Bovet, Marie-Claire
Alain, Harald Vogel, Ludger Lohmann, Jean Guillou,
David Sanger, Hans Fagius, Michael Radulescu, Daniel
Roth, Peter Planyavsky. A partire dal 1988 Daniel
Zaretsky si è esibito nelle più importanti sale da
concerto dell’ex Unione Sovietica, da Mosca a S.
Pietroburgo, nella cattedrale di Riga e nelle
principali città europee, in USA e in Sud America.
Nel 1991 Zaretsky ha vinto il Concorso Nazionale di
Organo e ha ottenuto il terzo premio al Concorso
Organistico di Speyer, in Germania. E’ risultato
finalista nel 1990 a Ragusa e nel 1993 a Lahti, in
Finlandia.
Daniel Zaretsky ha realizzato diverse incisioni
radiofoniche per le radio russe, svizzere, tedesche e
danesi. Attualmente è organista titolare presso la
famosa Philarmonic Hall di S. Pietroburgo e insegna
organo nel Collegio di Musica del Conservatorio della
stessa città. Dal 2002 è professore d’organo presso il
terzo conservatorio statale russo, nella città di
Nizhnij Novgorod.
Daniel

Teaching Certificate in 1989 under the direction of
Professors E. Bazanov and N. Oksentjan, and his
postgraduate education at the Kazan State Conservatory
under the direction of prof. R. Abdoullin. From 1991
to 1993 he continued his studies at the Sibelius Music
Academy in Helsinki (Finland) with Professor Kari
Jussila, graduating with the Concert Diploma with
honours. In addition he has supplemented his studies
in several Master-classes in Western Europe, including
those of Guy Bovet, Marie-Claire Alain, Harald Vogel,
Ludger Lohmann, Jean Guillou, David Sanger, Hans
Fagius, Michael Radulescu, Daniel Roth, P. Planyavsky.

Zaretsky has performed since 1988 in all the former
Soviet Union's important venues, including the
Philharmonic Halls of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the
Cathedral of Riga, as well as in Czechoslovakia,
Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Austria,
Finland, Sweden, Denmark,
Norway,
France, G. Britain, South America and the USA.
In 1991 he
won the National Organ Competition and took Third
Prize in the Speyer International Organ Competition in
Germany. In 1990 he was a finalist in the
International Organ Competition in Ragusa, Italy, and
in 1993 in Lahti, Finland. He has also made recordings
for Russian, Latvian, Swiss, German and Danish radios.
At the moment he is Organist of the famous
St.Petersburg Philharmonic Hall, and teaches the organ
at the Music College of St. Petersburg's Conservatory.
From
2002 he teaches the organ at the Nizhnij Novgorod
State Conservatory, the third biggest Conservatory in
Russia.
